ABOUT THE PROGRAM
So talking about Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity is great but what can you do about it?
To learn a few things you can do to create a more inclusive workplace, please join us in this interactive workshop. We will about talk why inclusion is the most important step in truly understanding Diversity. As noted, Diversity advocate Verna Myers said “Diversity does not stick without inclusion.” You will learn to challenge your assumptions, use inclusion nudges, understand bias and behaviors. Come prepared to step out of your comfort zone.
When you focus on Inclusion in the workplace it will force you to look at equity and then if you do those two well then diversity is bound to follow. This is a workshop to talk about practical solutions that have worked to increase belonging in the workplace and bring courageous conversations in and create brave spaces to continue to build equity and diversity.
Garima has worked in Global Nonprofits for the last 7 years and in commercial organizations across multiple countries and industries. This conversation is relevant to all organizations no matter where they are based and who they hire. She believes that this a journey that the organization and its citizens need to commit to and not see this as an end goal of meeting a certain quota or diversity goal.
At this workshop we will discuss what are the challenges and barriers and we will work together to problem solve to come to unique solutions that apply in the real world. We will cover areas of focus, inclusion nudges, barriers and challenges typically seen and what is the role of HR.

My great passion is to focus on the work around inclusion, equity and diversity in the workplace and beyond and continuously working on reducing bias from process, policy and workplace practices. I like to encourage individuals to use their voice to move the needle in the social justice field and believe that, no matter how small the platform or how small an idea, their voice matters. I have been working as a Human Resources leader for over 15 years across industries and geographies (India, China, Australia, Sub-Saharan Africa, USA, UK and Central American countries). Over these years, I have been having robust conversations about the future of work, creating a better employee experience and investing in your talent.
I speak at events and conduct workshops on the topics of Inclusion, Equity and Diversity to share my unique perspective of working with a global workforce in constantly changing environments. I like to connect with other people on a similar journey to learn and share their experiences and perspectives about a better workplace culture, creating inclusion and belonging and reducing bias and oppression.
